How to chase an unpaid invoice with reminders
Send a payment reminder yourself once an invoice is overdue, or let Trame nudge the customer automatically on a schedule.
Once an invoice is overdue, chase it yourself with one click, or let Trame send reminders on its own schedule in the background.
Send a reminder yourself
- Open the overdue invoice.
- Select Send.
- Select Send reminder.
Send reminder only appears once the invoice is actually overdue and the
client has an email address on file. Before the due date passes, use Email
or Resend to send the invoice itself instead.
Automatic reminders
Trame also chases overdue invoices on its own, without you having to open them:
- The first automatic reminder goes out 2 days after the due date passes.
- After that, reminders repeat roughly every 7 days, up to 3 in total.
- Each one is firmer in tone than the last.
- Reminders stop as soon as the invoice is marked paid.
Note
Automatic reminders can be turned off in your notification settings. This
only stops Trame's own schedule, the Send reminder button on the invoice
still works even when automatic reminders are off.
Frequently asked
When can I send a reminder?
Only once the invoice is overdue, and only if it has been sent (not a draft) with the client's email address on file.
How many times will Trame remind automatically?
Up to 3, spaced roughly a week apart, starting 2 days after the due date and stopping the moment the invoice is paid.
If I turn off automatic reminders, can I still chase manually?
Yes. That setting only affects Trame's own schedule. The Send reminder
button on the invoice is unaffected either way.
