An estimate for a sole trader, using the HMRC Personal Allowance, Income Tax bands (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) and Class 4 National Insurance rates for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 tax years, which are frozen at the same figures. Scotland has different bands. It leaves out Class 2 National Insurance, the trading allowance, student loans, payments on account and other income, so your real figure will differ.
